What a successful, and fun event today! The famous Finnish bakers did it again! Merja, Marita, Norma, Kirsi-Marja, Asta H.,Anna, Tarja and I baked ginger bread cookies, spice cakes, tiger cakes, Kolache cookies, and Mrs. Ditchek's chocolate cake. What I brought sold out, we had a few pieces of cakes left.
Tim Hertel carved a Christmas deer on a wooden block and then printed cards with diffrent color inks for us to sell wishing "Hauskaa joulua/Merry Christmas" - original design and classy. Sera made bracelets from aluminum can tops. Tarja brought Finnish items for sale - Marimekko coasters and dinner napkins. There was a good variety of basaar items.
Satu and John drove all the way from Tonopah. We found out she is so pregnant, she could have the baby boy tomorrow!
We saw lots of old friends from way back when we were doing the ASU Christmas event. Olive Zoller (Norway) is now a snowbird living in North Scottsdale. Many other "old faithfuls" still work behind the counters, and are happy that younger set is taking over!
We really appreciate Marita and company working on behalf of the Finns & Friends!
